Good sprinkler repair Dallas is important due to the hot summers and lengthy growing season. Although all repair companies look like they do the same job, the quality of any given repair varies widely. For example most sprinkler manufacturers make two versions of the same sprinkler head – a high quality professional version, and a low cost, lower quality version. A good sprinkler contractor will use the highest quality version to prevent early system failure. As sprinkler systems consist of many moving parts, and the fact that sprinkler systems in Dallas operate most in the year, the sprinkler components can easily wear out.

It is recommended to install a master irrigation valve on every system ( 55 psi or higher ). What this does is to eliminate leaks in the system by taking the water pressure off the mainline when the system is not being used. As a side-benefit this will also eliminate any chance of the pipes freezing in the winter as there will be very little water left in the mainline when the system is not being used.

On a good Sprinkler Repair Dallas, it is important to use only the highest quality parts, like water-proof silicon sealed (underground rated) wire connectors. Some companies use electrical tape or regular wire connectors that can easily corrode. Other quality components include Rainbird brand commercial grade heads, controllers and valves, wireless rain sensors that shut water off if it rains and wireless freeze sensors that shut off water in a freeze ( not the wired versions).

For spring planting, tulips, hyacinth and daffodils are a favorite choice from landscaping Dallas. It is best to use tulips of the single late variety, because the later they bloom, the less likely they will be damaged by early spring bad weather like wind and hail. It is not so important with hyacinth or daffodils as they can both better withstand the elements. In making plant selections, it is best to keep to a single primary color. It is tempting to use a wide range of colors but this can create a visually cluttered look which will distract from the overall beauty of the plantings.

The most effective method for efficient water use in a Dallas landscape is soil moisture sensors. Soil Moisture Sensors (sometimes known as biSensors) are sophisticated instruments which precisely measure the water content of your soil. The soil moisture sensor is like the thermostat in your house. When your house gets cold, the furnace comes on. With moisture technology installed in your lawn, when it gets too dry, the sprinklers turn on. This is ideally done when a sprinkler repair Plano is undertaken.

Over twice as many homeowners hire a contractor to repaint the exterior of their home as do it themselves, and it is important to choose the right one. Here are a number of tips to help select the right Plano Painting contractor for the job:
1) Meet the contractor at home and ask questions. If the contractor takes a long time to review the paintwork on your home, that is a good sign, and you will get a more realistic estimate. Even an experienced painter will need more than a fast glance at the walls.
2) Ask about the number and experience of the crew, and who will supervise them while on the job. Often a small business can do a better job, as the owner will be personally involved in supervising his painters. Watch out for a common trick where the contractor promises that that your job will be cheaper as it will be a show house too get more work in your neighborhood, if they do a great job, they will probably get additional work anyway.
3) Preparation. The quality of a finished paint job is 70% how well the initial preparation was done, not just the number of coats of paint. This part of the job is very time consuming, an often an area where a contractor may look to cut costs. It is an area where most disagreements between contractors and customers happen.. If you want a perfect surface free of bumps or marks from prior paint jobs, you will need to spell that out, and be prepared to pay extra. But if you can live with some imperfections showing through, get an agreement up-front as to what an acceptable finish is. Naturally any flaking or missing paint should be correctly taken care of before any finish paint
4) Ask about protecting non-painted surfaces or areas, this includes concrete, roofing and garden landscapes. For interiors covering, moving and protecting furniture is a major concern but don’t forget about flooring as well.
5) Always ask for references of similar work, call them up to see what the thought of the work, and actually go and see the work. You can get a good idea of the quality of workmanship by looking at jobs that were done several years ago. How well a painter’s work holds up is a good indicator of quality and preparation. Also look at recent work in case the contractor has a different crew, with different skill levels. Ask how surprises or unexpected problems were resolved.
6) Ask about membership in a trade or local business group. It is not a guarantee of quality, but it shows a level of commitment and reliability. Check with local consumer groups to see if the contractor has a history of unresolved complaints and problems.
7) Always get at least three written estimates. These should include a detailed breakdown of labor, material costs, the number of coats of primer and paint, the brand and type, together with a detailed description of the amount of surface preparation that will be done.
By following these tips from Plano Painting, you will help ensure that the paint job on your home is a quality one, which will last for years.

When it comes to Plano painting choices, there is an amazing choice of paint colors these days, long gone are the days of white, black and green!

Most paints have a basic range of up to 50 colors, but paint mixing machines can mix literally thousands of different colors and shades. So how do you decide what color to pick when there are so many options? And if you don’t like the color, your neighbors probably won’t like it either – after all they have to live with your choice too. The good news is that with some careful planning, the final plano painting job will be a great result that everybody likes.
The first things to consider when choosing a color scheme are the architecture of the house and how the color will fit in with the neighboring houses, you want to stamp your own style on your house, but not create an eyesore that everybody hates!
An exterior paint scheme is usually made up of at least three colors: the base which cover large areas such as the wall; the trim such as corner boards, window trim, and fascias; and finally accent, to highlight key items such as doors and shutters.
Base colors are going to cover the biggest portion of how the house looks, and will determine your choice of trim and accent. A lighter base color will make your house look larger, whereas a darker color will make it appear smaller. Other parts of the house that you don’t want to highlight like gutters and downspouts can also be painted in base color to help them blend into the background.
The trim color is a key to making the overall look. Painting the trim the same color as the base can give the house a new or even unfinished look. Dark trim, especially around the windows, can create a picture frame effect for the windows. Alternatively a lighter trim than the base is often a safe bet.
The accent color is what brings out the highlights. It brings life to the color scheme and draws attention to important features of the house. The front door, shutters, and the windows frames are good places for accent colors.
You PP contractor will be a big help in choosing colors, by showing you pre-selected color palettes arranged by architectural style or color range that put together complimentary base, trim, and accent colors. And together you will end up with a house you’ll be proud to own.
